With chemicals in focus
In order to produce textile products with the desired quality and properties, chemicals are needed. However, chemicals may not always be bad, it's all about choosing the right ones. We work daily to do just that.
Since Blåkläder imports and sell garments we are affected by the European chemical regulation REACH, EC 1907/2006, and have it as a guideline for our chemical work. REACH restricts and prohibits chemicals and the main aim is to ensure a high level of human health and the environment from the risks that may be caused by chemicals. Blåkläder must therefore follow the lists that restricts or prohibits chemicals.
To ensure that we meet the demands placed on us, our products and production,we have continuous contact with and set demands on our suppliers. We require our suppliers to sign our chemical restriction list, and ensure that products do not contain banned or restricted substances. The substances contained in our listings follow the requirements of REACH, a series of other laws and directives and Swedish Textile Importers recommendations of prioritized substances which are, or recommended to be, restricted or prohibited in clothes. These lists are continuously updated. To verify that our suppliers meet our requirements, we are also random chemical tests on our products.
We aim towards working as proactive as possible in an early stage of the production, preventing wrong chemicals from being used.
